The Pirelli Angel GT succeeds its predecessor, the ST, by bringing the Angel tire from Sport Touring into Gran Turismo territory. Offering the superb handling you’ve come to expect from Pirelli, the Angel GT tires also set a new benchmark in tire longevity without sacrificing performance. Thanks to the dual-compound construction, which offers unparalleled stability on straights and maximum grip in corners, the GT tires will provide consistent handling until the end of their very long lives. The Pirelli Angel GT is the ideal tire for those riders who want to travel long distances with a passenger and the bike fully loaded, or who simply take a ride in the country, but also for those who want to use their bikes all year round, both for recreation and commuting. All of this is true no matter what the bike is used for, whether a touring bike, a street enduro, naked or sport bike.
  • The Angel GT was designed for the primary purpose of providing regular wear and excellent water drainage guaranteed by both the front tire and by the arrangement of the grooves on the rear tire.
  • Extended Mileage Sport (EMS) - best in class for mileage and grip.
  • Ideal for sport bikes that require increased mileage without sacrificing grip and traction.
  • "W" rated for speeds of 168+ mph.

They Best the Competition
I ride a 730+ pound motorcycle to the limit. I have no chicken strips and have thoroughly ground down pegs - even when hanging off. These tires are the best tires out right now for the Sport Touring segment. I would wager they are the best street tires out there for a "do all" type of tire.

I've previously ran Michelin Pilot Road 3 and Bridgestone BT023GTs. I switched over to the Bridgestones because they had better ultimate grips levels and inspired more confidence in the twisties. I also got a warm and fussy feeling since they are OEM spec tires and they carry the "GT" rated tire for my odd ball 170/60/17 rear tire size. The Michelins had better tread life but they tended to slip a little out of corners. They had more flex than I cared for and you could feel them moving around on you. I, personally, don't prefer that feeling!

I would average about 3000-3500 miles out of a rear BT023GT and on the one set of PR3s I ran I got a bit over 6500 miles.

So far, these ANGEL GT tires have proven themselves to be more surefooted than the two models mentioned. I haven't had them in the rain but I can say they are VERY sticky when warmed up. So far, they are wearing like steel with over 3,000 miles on them. They aren't cupping and exhibiting weird wear like the others did and they seem to be about 50 percent worn on the sides, which I normally wear out first.

I recently put a pair on my 2010 Kawasaki Z1000. I'll be sure to post a review for those once I put a sufficient number of miles on...

Great touring tire with excellent grip
Best multi-purpose (i.e. Touring) tire when grip, wet weather capability, and tire life all matter. Used on a Ducati Multistrada 1200ABS.

I've been shopping for a different tire to put on my 2000 BMW RT1100. Has had Metzlers it's whole life and was tired of tire wear issues. So far 2000 mile on them and no problems so far. Traction and wear is excellent will review again in a few thousand miles.

The name says it all!
The Angel GT is a miraculous tire developed in a country notorious for slick winding mountain roads and highly skilled riders. They really nailed it with this tire. The compound stays very pliable when the temps drop and the tread pattern not only is the best looking tire on the market but provides excellent wet traction with its wide channels. Tire does extremely well in hot weather as well without increased wear.

Incredible Sport-Touring Tire
It was a toss-up between these and the PR4s for my S1000XR, which sees mostly commuting duty with the occasional weekend canyon scratching session. I'd heard that the PR4s had the edge in the wet and I live in SoCal, which was in the middle of a drought. The PR4s were also about $60 more. That made the choice even easier.

Within a month of spooning these on (the rear is STIFF and can be tough to get onto the wheel), SoCal received the first of many rainstorms. I can say, with confidence, that these tires are handling the very wet commute well. They've squirmed a bit while cornering on very wet pavement over painted stripes or through a muddy corner in the nearby canyons, but overall, they stick well in the wet.

My day starts early and it's usually 40degF outside. These tires heat up well even at those temps.

Turn in isn't as quick as the BT30s that these replaced, but the profile is rounder so that's expected.

Overall, I've run them edge to edge in mixed conditions and I'm very happy with the grip.

Good performing tire
I wore this tire out in 10 weeks (10,500) miles of riding this summer. It performed about equally as well as the Michelin Pilot Road 3 I had run last summer and cost about $30 less.
