Thanks to Michelin’s Total Performance philosophy, the Pilot Road 4 tires showcase improvements across the board over their predecessors, the Road 3 tires. External tests determined the Road 4 stopped 17% quicker in wet conditions than any other tire in its class, with even better performance on compromised surfaces such as paint. Tread life has been extended up to 20% over the Road 3, thanks in part to dual-compound technology featuring silica-charged rubber compounds. This is a tire rated to give you outstanding grip in any conditions, wet or dry, from 23°F up to 113°F. With Michelin Pilot Road 4 motorcycle tires on your bike, you'll ride with more confidence - rain or shine, hot or cold, city or highway. With its new XST+ sipes, Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in the wet than any other tires in the category. The new compounds are specially formulated to provide excellent grip on a wide range of road surfaces, including painted lines and pedestrian crossings, making it easier for you to ride with confidence in virtually all conditions.
  • Thanks to new XST+ sipes, Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in the wet than any other tires in the category. The Michelin Pilot Road 4 tire stops 17% faster than its closest competitor on wet roads, and 24% faster on a wet slippery surface such as a pedestrian crossing or painted lines. All of which means, riding in the rain should feel safer and more secure, and a lot less stressful. With Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires on your motorcycle, you'll ride with more confidence - rain or shine, hot or cold, city or highway. All statistics were conducted by independent 3rd party testing.
  • With improved 2CT technology, the Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires last up to 20% longer than the Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires.
  • Silica-charged rubber compounds were developed for the Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires. These compounds are specially formulated to provide excellent grip on a wide range of road surfaces, including painted lines and pedestrian crossings, making it easier for you to ride with confidence in virtually all conditions.

Edit with mileage information
Just installed a 180/55 r17 tire on my Yamaha FZ1. It looks and handles great. The incredibly deep siping is amazing on wet roads. If this tire wears like it is advertised to it will be an amazing value and definite 5 star rating.

I have put on 500 miles so far with no issues and superb handling.

<br>I have now put 10,000 miles mild to spirited riding on this rear tire and it is still looking great! I would estimate it still has about half the tread remaining. It looks like I can easily get 15-20,000 miles out of these on a 550lb Liter bike. Very Impressive wear and performance on dry and wet pavement.

This is a great tire. Although it is a little spendy, the mileage I am seeing makes it cheaper overall.

Highly recommend.

Best All-Round Tire
Mounted this tire before a month long road trip.

Best tire I've ever purchased! Rode in the rain for 2 weeks straight, never a squirm or slip. Still could keep up pace in the canyons in the wet, simply amazing!

Great tire with awesome mileage on my R6
Read all the reviews and yes it costs more but the mileage far outweighs anything else to date. I ride the freeway and this totally makes sense. Next tire will be the GT. Ten dollars more for a stiffer sidewall. Not sure if it will give me any more mileage but, for $10, I will keep you informed.

Good all around tire
I bought this tire mainly for commuting; after 11000 miles it is finally wearing out. Still have about a good 2 months of riding left (about 2000 miles). This tire has done a very good job in my opinion, handles great in the canyons and in wet weather. I will be buying this tire again and recommend it to anyone looking to get high mileage out of a tire without sacrificing performance.

Great sport touring tire
I was very satisfied with Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires for 30k miles on my Honda VFR, with only a few woops moments on wet roads. So naturally when the OEM tires wore out on my CTX700 I put Pilot Road 4s on them. 11k miles later I have to say wet or dry these tires have allowed me to ride the CTX closer to its potential than the OEM tires ever could. Second set is already in the garage but I may have wait another 4-5k miles to change them.

Best tire period
This was my second pair of the pilot 4. They are without exception the best motorcycle tire that I have ever used. I topically put 12 to 20 k a year on my two bikes and I love this tire. I love to play in the twisties and third tire performs flawlessly, grips like glue and stops on a dime. One great tire!

Nice tired - great price
I had PR3s before and liked them, so got the PR4s last year. Loved them, the feel in the rain was excellent. Got a little less mileage than hoped for, so just ordered another set, getting the GT for rear this time. Hoping for better mileage, but can't complain. I'm a big guy, and a little ham-fisted, so I can eat up a rear pretty easily in under 6000 miles.

Durable with plenty of grip
I am closing in on 8,000 miles and will buy another set of these in the next 4 months. My riding is mixed freeway and twisties. Very impressive grip wet or dry.

First non GT PR4
My 3rd set although first two were GT series. The GTs performed beyond expectations for mileage. Current set seem to be wearing the same. I live in Florida and do quite a bit of wet weather riding. The main reason I keep coming back to this tire is the fact that it is the best wet traction tire I have ever used.

Fantastic all around tire
I have run several types of tires and I have to say that the pilot road 4s are the best overall tire for all around riding. They wear very well keeping their profile and shape near perfect right till the end of their life. This keeps your confidence high right till replacement time. Excellent wet weather grip and they sacrifice nothing in the corners.
