Thanks to Michelin’s Total Performance philosophy, the Pilot Road 4 tires showcase improvements across the board over their predecessors, the Road 3 tires. External tests determined the Road 4 stopped 17% quicker in wet conditions than any other tire in its class, with even better performance on compromised surfaces such as paint. Tread life has been extended up to 20% over the Road 3, thanks in part to dual-compound technology featuring silica-charged rubber compounds. This is a tire rated to give you outstanding grip in any conditions, wet or dry, from 23°F up to 113°F.

Silica-charged rubber compounds were developed for the Michelin Pilot Road 4 Motorcycle Tires. These compounds are specially formulated to provide excellent grip on a wide range of road surfaces. A stiffer casing with a patented new technology that delivers the stability you need for heavier bikes while riding solo, two-up or with luggage. Now with the new XST+ sipes, Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in wet conditions. The Michelin Pilot Road 4 lasts up to 20% longer than the Pilot Road 3 tires.
  • The Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT has a stiffer casing with a patented new technology for motorcycle tires that delivers the stability you need for heavier GT-class bikes while riding solo, two-up or with luggage, and the comfort you desire.
  • Thanks to new XST+ sipes, Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires stop faster in the wet than any other tires in the category. All of which means, riding in the rain should feel safer and more secure, and a lot less stressful. With Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires on your motorcycle, you'll ride with more confidence - rain or shine, hot or cold, city or highway. All statistics were conducted by independent 3rd party testing.
  • With improved 2CT technology, the Michelin Pilot Road 4 tires last up to 20% longer than the Michelin Pilot Road 3 tires.

Excellent this is the 3rd set of pilot 4s.
Awesome tire don't use anything else, good mileage never let me down even on dirt roads, no hesitation to keep using them.

Best tires thus far.
Don't think I have ever liked a tire as much as these. The turn-in and grip was immediately noticed the first ride over the stock tires. Smooth, easy to balance, and wet traction are all 5 stars. So far it looks like I'll get about 3k miles more out of it than stock. Highly recommend. I also have a matching rear which is also a 5 star. Riding an 800 lb "sport bike" tends to demand a bit more from a street tire and these are holding up well.

Severe Cupping
I have used Michelin Pilot Road tires since they were first available. I had been very satisfied and have experienced tire mileage in the 10,000 to 11,000 range. My son and I both had our first set of Pilot Road 4 GT tires installed by different dealers just prior to a trip. His bike is a Honda ST1300 and mine is a Yamaha FJR. At around 1,500 miles on our trip we both began to experience a chatter at interstate speeds. The front tires had severe cupping that is symmetrical around the tire. Air pressure was maintained at or above the specification. When I got home I called Michelin customer service and got no satisfaction. I was told to see my dealer. The rear tire had normal wear.

GREAT Tire
This is currently the best tires on the market. It traction is great and has acceptable tore wear compared to prior versions. I ride hard with both my Wing and ST-1300 and have decided that this is my new go to tire for the front of both bikes. I would recommend them to anyone and I install numerous tires for others. This is always been a recommendation is they came out.

Great all-around tire
This is a great tire for all-around sport touring use. Mine gets used for commuting, around town, canyon carving and long distance touring in all kinds of weather. It handles all those tasks with aplomb.

Great Product at a Great Price!
Easy to purchase... fast delivery... repeat customer. Michelin PR4s and PR4GTs just seem to work best on my FJR... great handling and long mileage... Will continue to buy my tires from Jake.

Best tire EVER!
I love these tires! They have made a believer out of me! SUPERB wet weather traction, coupled with excellent wear. First of all I am a commuter, I ride every day as long as there isn't snow on the roads. I ride a heavy bike, and I ride it pretty hard.

I put these tires on in December, and just ordered a replacement set. I got 7K out of mine. I don't race with them, but I don't baby them either. I'm just impressed with their wear! I think these tires were made for my Concours!

Excellent Handling. Superb Wear.
OEM front tire was cupped at 3500 miles and made handling scary. Put this on and ran at 42 psi. So far I have over 8500 miles on it and have not noticed any wear. Bike handles better than when new. (Also replaced the rear with the matching PR GT.)

Put the "sport" into "sport touring"
I replaced the OEM Bridgestone Battlax T30s on my GSX1250FA with a set of these Pilots. I found the difference obvious from the first corner I took when I picked up the bike from the shop. The heavy-ish steering feel that I had at city speeds was greatly diminished, and at highway speeds, the bike goes through corners with a lot less effort than with the Bridgestones. I can't talk about durability, but on the basis of the improved performance alone, these tires are worth it and I'll happily continue to use them.

How do I know year of manufacture of the tire?
Anjali M on Aug 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: We sell and ship tires within 4 years of the original manufacturing date. Oftentimes it is not the age of the tire that matters as much as how the tire is stored. Since we store our product in a climate controlled and highly regulated warehouse, we can confidentially stand behind each tire that we stock.
