The MICHELIN Commander II creates a new standard with regard to durability, yet without making any compromises in terms of wet weather grip, maneuverability or stability. This performance balance provides yet another eloquent illustration of Michelin's research and development philosophy: no performance gain to be achieved on one front to the detriment of another. Aramid fibers, used in aerospace and military technology, and Michelin Amplified Density Technology work in tandem to extend the tire’s lifespan while maintaining the high levels of handling and stability you’ve come to expect. Brand new tread patterns disperse water more efficiently, giving you outstanding grip no matter what the road throws at you.
    • Rubber compounds provide remarkable wet grip, without compromising durability.
    • Adt (Amplified Density Technology) provides a highly dense more rigid tire casing which helps deliver excellent feedback and handling in all conditions.
    • The square bead-wire package improves casing rigidity, handling and ease of installation.
    • Silica Rain Technology (SRT) which integrates silica into the compound of the tire tread, while the MICHELIN Commander II's tread pattern has been designed to prevent all forms of uneven wear.
    • The exclusive architecture of the MICHELIN Commander II brings both maneuverability and stability. The tire's more rigid, high-density carcass improves maneuverability, while the aramid fiber crown ply of the rear tire enhances resistance and lightness for impeccable stability, even at high speeds.
    • The numerous longitudinal grooves of the tire's tread pattern optimize water dispersal for outstanding wet weather grip.
    • A radically different design for an explosive look. A "premium" sidewall finish gives your motorcycle an immaculate appearance.

    Michelin Commander II delivers...
I decided to try the Michelin Commander II on my 08 FLHX Street Glide and it paid off...I currently have 20,000 miles on the rear tire and just ordered another one because I don't take chances with the wear on my tires...I was told I would sacrifice to get the mileage in the ride or in traction...I did not find this to be the case...performance and tracking were excellent and in the rain it performed equally as well as any Dunlop tire I have ever ridden on in all my 45+ years of riding. I would recommend this tire to any one who wants long range expectations without sacrificing ride or traction and tracking as well as bad weather performance.

    Great tires
Bought the Michlan commander 2 rear tire for my touring bike. Smooth ,great on wet roads and handling beats all other tires I have had in past. Buying front commander 2 next. I'm a fan and wear on tire at 4000 miles is barely noticeable .Give high rating to anyone looking for a great tire!

    Totally bad ass
I just purchased a front and rear tire. I put them thru the gammit today. In the span of 10 hrs I encountered 85 deg sun, torential downpour, new and old asphalt, concrete nice long straight aways and some really awesome twisties. These tires performed flawlessly. Excellent adhesion in all conditions. I felt very confident after just a few minutes. I highly reccomend these tires.

    Excellent Mileage!
I just ordered my second Commander II rear tire. I'm currently at 18,000 miles with 2/32 of tread left on the last one. Excellent handling, very pleased with the mileage achieved! (2011 Kawasaki Vaquero)

    Superior Tire
This tire adds so much to the ride in terms of grip in wet and dry when compared to the stock Dunlop tires. Added bonus is tire life is extended as well over the Dunlops. Wet traction is better than the stock Dunlops. For me, there is no reason to buy anything else.

Put these tires on front and back. Front was worn out at 17,000 miles and replaced with another. The rear is still going at 18,000 miles will be replaced soon. Rain performance was good and the handling gave me greater confidence in the curves.

    Liking these
Nice tire. Sticks well dry, wet is decent. Lasts about 10k, which is less than they claim, but longer than stock dunlops. Balanced well for a big tire.

what is the difference between a CommanderII and a Scortcher 31 for an ultra Ltd?
    Marshall C on Apr 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It really comes down to preference. The scorcher are a softer compound and will run out faster, but have preferred handling qualities. The Commander II is, in my opinion, a better tire with longevity and performance. Probably that best big bike tire out right now.
