The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a recall notice for 2015-2016 Ducati Scrambler motorcycles produced from February 17, 2015 through November 11, 2016. There are an estimated 5502 units included in the recall, which has been issued due to a potential problem with the side stand pivot nut. According to the Safety Recall Report submitted on December 8, 2016, “the side stand pivot nut can detach from the bolt and as a consequence the pivot bolt can loosen allowing the side stand sensor switch to no longer detect proper positioning of the stand.”
Official Ducat dealers will replace the side stand pivot bolt with one that has longer threading and will increase torque on the nut. In addition, threadlock will be applied to the pivot bolt and nut.
