The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a large recall for a range of Indian Motorcycle models spanning the 2014 to 2017 model years. There are potentially 23,746 units affected by the issue, which is described by the NHTSA below:
“the fuel rail may contact other components and result in a fuel leak…A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition sources increases the risk of a fire.”
Here is a complete list of the 2014-2017 models affected, all manufactured April 15, 2013 to July 15, 2016.

As of December 2, 2016, the date Indian Motorcycle submitted its safety recall report to the NHTSA, no injuries or vehicle loss had been reported as a result of the defect.
Indian Motorcycle will notify owners of affected models and dealers will install a bracket to minimize fuel rail movement, free of charge. Owners may contact Indian Motorcycle customer service at 1-877-204-3697. The recall ID is I-16-03.
