The One Moto Show celebrated its eighth year in 2017 and it was bigger and more eclectic than ever. Housed in a massive warehouse in north Portland, this year’s event remained true to its egalitarian roots with free entry for attendees and exhibitors. Support expanded with Harley-Davidson joining the ranks as the presenting sponsor for the 2017 edition, but plenty of the companies that have been with the show since its early days continued to chip in. These include the likes of ICON, BMW Motorrad USA and See See Motor Coffee Co., just to list a few.
Of course, the artistry and craft of the motorcycle builders remained the highlight of the show, and attendees were treated to two stories-worth of custom-built bikes this year. Everything from professional race bikes to garage-built choppers; Alta Motors’ latest electric prototype to weather-beaten Indian Motorcycles that first saw the light of day nearly 100 years ago. Café racers, dirt bikes, hybrids, cruisers, trackers, scooters. There was something for nearly everyone at this year’s One Moto Show.
Additionally there were numerous vendors selling all sorts of moto-inspired gear and accessories. You could even get a haircut on site if you wanted. There was plenty of local food-truck fare to take in when you got hungry and live music throughout the weekend later into the evenings. Photographers, painters, graphic designers and other mixed media creators displayed their efforts throughout the building, offsetting the rugged texture of the dilapidated industrial walls.
For those able to shake off the fun from Friday and Saturday night, there were even flat track races to check out down at the Salem Indoor Speedway.
All this talk does little to convey the feel of the event though. That’s why we have a sizable number of photos from the weekend below. Enjoy!
