Combustion requires air and gas. That’s where your motorcycle’s intake system comes into play. Hard parts like fuel injectors, pumps, and throttle bodies aren’t typically replaced, however Power Commander-style piggyback fuel and ignition modules can alter both fuel and timing/ignition mapping. An aftermarket air filter is a more affordable option if you want to push more air into the engine, or if your seeking an alternative to an OE paper filter element. Older-bikes employ mechanical carburetors in lieu of digital FI, and the engine’s power band and running character can be tuned mechanically.
