Our recent BMW S1000R brake upgrade project didn’t stop after we completed the rear set-up. We also sourced two Galfer Floating Wave Rotors for the front, along with the Galfer Sintered Ceramic HH brake pads. These items fit a broad range of bikes too, so be sure to check them out if you’re considering a brake upgrade.
The processes between the rear and front set-ups aren’t dramatically different, but in this case there are two rotors to install so be sure to take note of where the ABS sensor wheel is when you take the old rotors off and ensure it remains in the proper position. There are a few more tips offered in the video above to help make the work go as smoothly as possible. But before you tackle any project like this be sure to consult the manufacturer’s recommended installation process for your particular machine.
